Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Unforgotten is a magnificent premium release from Wild Turkey, bottled as part of the annual Master’s Keep Collection. The 2022 edition is a blend of Kentucky straight bourbon and rye whiskies, finished in ex-rye casks. It is inspired by the earlier Wild Turkey Forgiven expression, which was created when a crew member accidentally mixed a batch of young rye with a barrel of mature bourbon. Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Unforgotten amps up the age of the original release. Master Distiller Eddie Russell has selected a 13-year-old bourbon and mixed it with 8-year-old and 9-year-old rye whiskies. It was then finished in rye casks in the pre-Prohibition Rickhouse B, the favorite rickhouse of Jimmy Russell, and bottled at 105 proof without chill filtering.
