Grape varieties: Syrah (100%). Origin: Schist soils of Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima, predominantly facing south. Vinification: Hand-picked into small perforated boxes. Reception with immediate destemming and crushing. Fermentation in stainless steel vats, with fermentation at a controlled temperature of around 23ºC, with prolonged maceration. Part of the batch underwent malolactic fermentation in used French oak barrels. Ageing: Aged in stainless steel vats until bottling. Tasting Notes: At Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima, we selected the best Syrah grapes to create this varietal. With a deep garnet colour, it has a confined aroma of very ripe black fruit, spices and balsamic notes typical of the variety. The ageing in French and American oak added a slight hint of cocoa and roasting to the mineral character of the Syrah. In the mouth, there is an intense fruitiness, with velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish.
