Founded in 1920 by Deonilde Freitas, continued by Germana Freitas and later by Ermelinda Freitas, the company has always dedicated special attention to wine. Since the first generation, this house has focused on the quality of its vineyards and wines, which were initially produced and sold in bulk without a private label. It was under the current management, Leonor Freitas, that a major change took place, and in 1997, a new era began for this centuries-old family business, with the first wine produced and bottled under the Casa Ermelinda Freitas name.
